Author Guidelines

1. General Submission Requirements

Authors submitting manuscripts to Economics, Business and Management Science Journal (EBMSJ) (Online ISSN: 2775-3794) must ensure that their submission meets the following core requirements:

  • The manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal or conference.
  • The topic falls within the journal's Focus and Scope (Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Governance, Islamic Economics/Business, and Digital Business Transformation).
  • The manuscript is written in clear, academic English or Bahasa Indonesia and formatted strictly according to the official EBMSJ Article Template (.DOC/.DOCX) in Microsoft Word format.
  • The manuscript has a similarity index of no more than 30% when checked via Turnitin or Plagiarism Checker X.

2. Manuscript Structure and Formatting

  1. Title: Concise, informative, and specific (maximum 14–16 words), avoiding non-standard abbreviations.
  2. Author Information: Full names of all authors (without academic titles), institutional affiliations (Department, Faculty, University, City, Country), and the email address of the Corresponding Author.
  3. Abstract & Keywords: A single-paragraph structured or unstructured abstract of 150–250 words stating the research objective, method/sample, key empirical findings, and conclusion/implications, accompanied by 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons.
  4. Introduction: Presents the research background, empirical or theoretical phenomenon, literature gap, novelty/contribution, and explicit research objectives (approx. 15–20% of manuscript length).
  5. Literature Review & Hypothesis Development: Critical synthesis of relevant economic or management theories and prior empirical studies leading logically to the research framework or hypotheses.
  6. Research Method: Details the research design, population and sampling technique, data sources, operational definition of variables, and econometric/statistical or qualitative analysis techniques.
  7. Results and Discussion: Presents empirical findings clearly using well-formatted tables and figures, followed by an in-depth discussion comparing results with theory and prior studies and explaining managerial or policy implications.
  8. Conclusion: Summarizes the main findings in paragraph form (not bullet points), highlights practical/policy recommendations, acknowledges study limitations, and suggests directions for future research.
  9. Acknowledgments & Conflict of Interest Disclosure: States any research funding and declares competing interests.
  10. References: Must include at least 15–20 primary scholarly references (minimum 80% published within the last 5–10 years in peer-reviewed journals).

3. Citation and Reference Style (APA Style)

EBMSJ mandates the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition Style for both in-text citations—e.g., (Porter, 2020; Kotler & Keller, 2021)—and the reference list. Authors are strongly required to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote, and to include Crossref DOI links where available.

4. Online Submission Procedure

All manuscripts must be submitted online via https://journal.mahesacenter.org/index.php/ebmsj/about/submissions. Authors must register an OJS account with the Author role enabled, complete the 5-step submission workflow, and ensure complete metadata entry for all co-authors.
